The SSD's have fallen a good bit over the past year, but they are still very pricey
I like this a lot, but you would better off to go the Sandy Bridge route now.

I would agree. At this point however, I would be tempted to take the SSD plunge with a Crucial RealSSD300, and then have a large mechanical drive for saving large files or such. I guess it depends...
